Bison Women XC The Pick of Coaches and Media in Summit League Preseason Poll

Strong Showing in 2022 Led to Top Preseason Kudos

The North Dakota State University women's cross country team has been selected as the favorite to win the 2023 Summit League Championship by both the league's coaches and the media, according to a preseason poll released by the league office on Wednesday.

The Bison received seven first-place votes from the coaches and six from the media to total 91 points.

NDSU is coming off a strong 2022 campaign in which they finished fourth at the NCAA Midwest Regional Championships and 23rd at the NCAA Championships, their highest finish at the national meet since 2016.

The Bison return four of their top five runners from last year's team, including All-American Emily Strohfus.

South Dakota State was picked second in the poll with 82 points, followed by Oral Roberts with 73 points, Denver with 64 points, and Kansas City with 58 points.
