Berlin Criminal Court Hears Brenda Patea's Allegations

On the second day of Alexander Zverev's domestic abuse trial in Berlin, the court heard testimony from his accuser, Brenda Patea. Patea, who was once Zverev's girlfriend, alleges that he assaulted her during an argument in October 2019.

Zverev's Lawyer Requests Trial Closure

Zverev's lawyer, Dr. Alfred Dierlamm, requested that the trial be closed to the public on privacy grounds. However, the court denied this request, stating that the public has a right to know about the allegations against Zverev.

Zverev Denies Charges, Penalty Order Issued

Zverev has denied the charges against him. However, in October 2023, the Berlin criminal court issued a penalty order against Zverev, fining him for the alleged assault. Patea claimed in an interview that Zverev pushed her into a wall during an argument at a hotel in New York City.
