DHCP Vendor-class Identifier and Client Vendor Name Updates
Client Vendor Name Updates
The traditional Client Vendor Name has been updated for some Windows-based devices. This value used to be simply MSFT 50. Some devices will now show up as MSFT 50.
DHCP Option 43 Updates
The administrator configures the DHCPv4 server to send Vendor-specific Options to the client. The DHCPv4 client joins the network and sends a DHCPDISCOVER message that.
As described above the value of the DHCP option is only sent to clients that have a specific vendor class MSFT 50 in the example DHCP Option 43 Vendor Specific Information.
